Stay at home for 7 days if you have either:
- a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
- a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital
You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home
Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if

The Practice was founded in 1914 by Dr Fiddes and is now housed in purpose-built premises built in 1970 further extended in 1989 and again in 1994. The Practice provides a range of essential, national and local medical services under the General Medical Services Contract. There are currently seven partners at the surgery, three full time (Dr Ward, Dr Kanagasabai and Dr De Silva) and four part time (Dr Neill, Dr Subhani, Dr Iriso & Dr George).
The Practice area covers Shenfield and Hutton only. We are not a limited partnership.
Publication of Earnings 2017-18
“ All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working at Mount Avenue Surgery in the last financial year was £82,987 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs and 4 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.”
Attention - Care.Data Records Extraction
Confidential information from your medical records can be used by the NHS to improve the services offered so that the best possible care can be provided for everyone. This information, along with your postcode and NHS number but not your name, are sent to a secure system where it can be linked with other health information.
This allows those planning NHS services or carrying out medical research to use information from different parts of the NHS in a way which does not identify you.
You have a choice.

Care Quality Registration
As required by the Health and Social Care Act 2008 the Practice is registered as Dr Ward and Partners, Service Provider ID 1-199726715, effective 1st April 2013.
From April 2015, all patients will have a named GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to them.
What does this mean for our patients?
As one of our patients, you will be given a named GP.
Your named GP will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to you. They will also work with other relevant health and care professionals, who are involved in your care, to ensure that your care package meets your individual needs. This does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the practice as you currently do.
You do not need to do anything, but if you have any questions, or wish to discuss this further please contact the surgery.
Access To The Surgery
Please read Practice News about Advance Notice of Changes to the Car Park
Very limited parking is available at the enclosed side of the surgery only. There are, however, good local parking facilities within Shenfield and we would ask that patients consider using these as an alternative to parking at the Surgery.
PLEASE PARK CONSIDERATELY AT ALL TIMES AND DO NOT PARK IN THE DOCTOR OR STAFF PARKING AREAS. THEY ARE ALWAYS IN REGULAR USE!
We do not accept any responsibility for vehicles in the car park; these are parked entirely at owners' risk. Wheelchair access is via the main entrance. The downstairs patients' toilet has facilities for the disabled and baby-changing facilities.
A lift is available for access to the upstairs consultation rooms.
