When you travel abroad, you may need vaccinations to protect yourself from diseases and infections which pose a threat in other parts of the world. It is therefore important to find out in good time before you travel whether you will need additional vaccinations for the country you are visiting.
You should first obtain a questionnaire from Reception or download the form (PDF, 383KB), one for each member of your family. Please complete and return the questionnaire to the Surgery six weeks prior to your departure date.
The questionnaire will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
Once we determine what vaccinations are required you will be contacted to make an appointment with a Practice Nurse.
Please note that if your trip is less than six weeks away, the surgery will not be able to see you for your vaccinations. We ask that you seek advice from an external travel clinic.
The following travel vaccinations are free of charge through the NHS:
- Hepatitis A
- Typhoid
- Cholera
- Tetanus / diphtheria / polio-combined
Other vaccinations are NOT covered by the NHS and are considered as private treatments that you would need to get from external travel clinic.
